VP Debate: UPDATED AND DICK PROOF

I should have watched the debate blind folded.

Well, if you spent 90 minutes of your life last night watching the Joe Biden speech (VP debate), I have news for you.  You will never be able to get that time back.

Having to watch Joe Biden laugh, roll his eyes, shake his head and basically act like a 3-year-old buffoon was a major distraction to me.  It was difficult at best to concentrate on the words coming out of his mouth when his condescending and rude demeanor sidetracked much of the debate.

But that’s how he rolls.

Both sides will claim victory today, but I do think the context of Ryan’s words were extremely strong and spot on and by words alone, I would declare Ryan the winner.  But what I wish Ryan would have done was be a little less passive.  What can I say?  He’s a nice guy and obviously not easily angered.

The toothy mockery would have led me to immediately lean across the table and physically “wipe the grin off his face.”  Preferably by brute force.

Hence, why I’ll never be in politics.

A cool head and an even temperament is a great quality.  I lack both. But sometimes it’s okay to start flipping money changers tables in the market square and show some anger.

However, the rude behavior of Biden will be the topic du jour and it has been.  I actually believe I would have almost declared Biden the winner of the debate without his tom foolery.  Almost.

His behavior was atrocious.  He interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times in the 90 minute go around.   Being loud and obnoxious doesn’t make your words magically true.  Lies, louder, are still lies.   Biden is a charlatan but he also knows how to work a room.

Moderator Martha Raddatz of ABC News happily obliged Biden as well staying true to her colors.  After news reports this week from the Daily Caller’s, Josh Peterson, broke the story of Obama attending Raddatz’s wedding and she Obama’s, we knew it would be severely skewed.  And in my opinion, it was.

She allowed Biden to ramble on and happily interrupted Ryan any time he appeared to be gaining traction.  Not to mention she steered the debate away from things like foreign policy and the economy focusing heavily on abortion.

I remember distinctly thinking when the abortion questions arose that Paul Ryan answered well and that was that.  But then she re-questioned the same topic again wanting to focus on it more.  I tweeted during that time that the answer was his answer and why is she continuing with the abortion rhetoric.

I believe she was pressing heavily to obtain the dreaded out of context sound bite to utilize in the last few weeks of this election.

Nice try Martha. I don’t believe you got what you were looking for or were instructed to create.

We knew who she was going in to this debate.  Obviously, no one is surprised by her weak and one-sided moderating.

Martha didn’t even question Biden’s contradiction of the State Department employees testimony only one day prior.  Now we know someone is lying.  Was it the State Department?  Or was it Biden?  They don’t get to all be right.

Biden would go from yelling to the “new Batman” voice, deep and serious.  But he came across more as the joker.  The only problem is I fail to find what is humorous about 25 million Americans being out of work.  I fail to see the hilarity in a national debt that has reached destructive levels.  I fail to see why a Vice Presidential debate of these here, United States of America, should be treated with such frivolity   It’s insulting.  And the Vice President’s actions were inexcusable.  He made a mockery of his office and this election.

I’m not okay with that.

This is serious.  How can he claim “it’s better” in places like his hometown of Scranton, PA with 10% unemployment that was at 8.5% when he and Obama took office?

The moment Ryan stated,  ”That’s what we are getting in this administration speeches, but what we need is leadership,” a lightbulb went off in my little blonde head.  The Obama administration plays on peoples emotions and not their intellect.  And I believe we are emotional beings.  Even if you didn’t cry at the movie “Up”.  For three hours.  Like some people who shall remain nameless.
“SQUIRREL!”

We get the empty suit speeches all the time.  This was an emotional play on his voter base to make up for his boss’s lackluster performance one week ago.  And they loved it.  Every sound bite I’ve heard from Obama supporters believe he kicked Ryan all over the stage.  The fun part is asking them to name one thing Biden said.  They can’t.  They just know how they felt from the debate.

Which sometimes can win elections.  2008 anybody?

However, I don’t believe Biden will be laughing so much the night of November 6th.

The Villages await you sir.
