The Hypocrisy of Leftist Gun Control…and stuff.
As Congress comes back into session for the first time since the Aurora shooting it appears gun-control legislation will not be brought to the floor, just yet anyway. But it doesn’t mean the Liberals aren’t being vocal about it.
I have to say, I am having the most difficult time reading about this shooting rampage. I’m sick of seeing it at every turn. Not because of a petty flippant attitude, but because it’s just so sad, I can’t bear it.
I began an article yesterday on the shooting and gun control and then quickly abandoned it. I felt like we didn’t need yet another article on this horrific act of violence.
But then, I got pissed. The kind that makes your hands shake.
And it all has to do with several different comments and headlines that make me realize just how damn political the Left can turn any tragedy into and advance their own agenda even though it makes no sense. It rarely, if ever, adds up. The hypocrisy of their beliefs did me in.
First of all, why in the hell would the progressive Left want to take guns away from ordinary citizens, like those who were in the theater that night but they have no problem running guns to Mexican drug cartels? The majority of the comments I’ve seen call for the ban of assault weapons. But they think it’s ok to give assault weapons to Mexican murderers?
If the Democrats came out and said, “no, we are not for giving the drug cartels assault weapons” but they don’t call for Eric Holder’s resignation, in my book, they support it. Until they stand differently, their actions speak louder than their words.
Then Mexican el Presidente Felipe Calderon goes on Twitter criticizing US gun policy.
“Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It’s doing damage to us all”
He’s kidding right? This is the man who will not comment on Fast & Furious. He also is the man under whom the Mexican drug cartel wars have left close to 55,000 dead in the past several years. And this guy wants to take guns away from the people in that theater?
For the record, pretty much all these questions rhetorical and highly sarcasm laden.
Reports are emerging now that Syria is threatening to use biological and chemical weapons if attacked and are threatening to use them on civilians and rebel forces. Now, everybody begins to get upset. Why now? They’ve been slaughtered with bullets for months on end, but somehow being slaughtered with chemical weapons is suddenly a crisis?
Last time I checked a murdered Syrian by a bullet or by biological weapons, were still the same amount of dead.
The point being the Democrats don’t seem to be crying foul over guns being used to murder thousands in Syria. Maybe that’s because it’s the government with the guns. (Ohhhh, burn.)
And then there is the point, to me, that just seems to make such sense. I question myself constantly because I have a tendency to over simplify things. I believe common sense can be applied to most situations. If we have more laws and more gun control, there’s one little problem. The bad guys will always be able to get their hands on guns.
It doesn’t matter if we have a gazillion laws and take away guns from every single American citizen, the bad guys, always find a way. I’m pretty certain most aren’t out buying guns legally in the first place.
I do view it in one other light as well. Likely because I’m paranoid over anything the Left does, but why would they fight so hard to remove our guns? I believe it still all comes down to the same agenda. They want a Government that controls the people.
You know, the complete OPPOSITE of the Constitution. And that’s the biggest hypocrisy of all. Don’t stand there and tell me you are defending the Constitution. If you take our guns, you are not for the Constitution. But then, we already knew that, didn’t we?
