Sunday Under the Covers for July 29th, 2012

We interrupt this blog to audaciously yell…100 DAYS TO GO BEFORE VOTING BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA THE DICTATOR OUT OF OFFICE!

And now back to our regularly scheduled Sunday Under the Covers.

This week in planning your October nights:

The Presidential Debate Schedule was released.  The first debate will be on October 3rd, at 9pm EST. For the entire schedule of debates you can visit my blog here.  I have to admit, Twitter makes the debates somewhat enjoyable.  And I’m very curious how the missing teleprompter will affect President Obama.  Unfortunately, he’s well adept at the art of blowing smoke.  Hopefully Romney will take him to task.

This Week in the Polls:

Those Rasmussen rascals (rascals in a good way)  are reporting the daily Presidential Tracking Poll for today shows Mitt Romney attracting 47% of the vote, while President Obama earns support from 45%.  This was Romney’s biggest week over Obama in the polls to date.

Other key polls this week as reported by Rasmussen show consumer confidence fell to the lowest level of 2012.

Long-term optimism about the U.S. Economy Fell to a new low this month. Just 40% believe the economy will be stronger in FIVE years. That’s down from 46% a year ago, 50% two years ago and 58% three years ago.”

Yay, Obama continues to create all new lows all the while blaming Republicans for any of his whoas.

This Week in a Big Olympic Win for the Women:

The Summer Olympics in London began this week with Ryan Lochte winning the first US Gold medal.  If this is a man, why am I saying it’s a win for the women?  Have you seen this guy?  Holy God. I don’t even know if he won the race or not, I think the judges may have just taken a look at him and said, you are freaking hot, take this Gold Medal please.

Past winner Michael Phelps placed fourth in the same race.  And not to take away from Ryan’s talent, effort and win, he’s still hot.

This Week in the fight for Freedom in Dallas Texas:

There was a massive undertaking in Dallas this week.  It began Thursday evening with the Freedom Works event FreePAC Restoring Freedom.  You can read the article I wrote as a run-down of the event in case you missed it here.  And my personal take on the event below.  But over 14,000 people flooded the American Airlines stadium to rally together in an inspiring and informational event to help keep the house, take the senate and win the White House in November.

It came as a precursor to Glenn Beck’s event Restoring Love which was resounding success as well.  More than 40,000 tickets were sold to the  Restoring Love event.  They also had over 30,000 people become involved in a huge community service project in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

The people are rallying!  The main stream media is ignoring it!  WE are here! And there is a freaking lot of us! They can ignore all they want. We will take this country back!

This Week in My World:

Senator Rand Paul and Dr. Robert Paul

I was graciously invited by Freedom Works to attend the FreePAC event in Dallas Texas this week along with 25 other bloggers. To say the event was amazing, is a gross understatement. From bloggers row we would watch the speeches and then the speakers would be escorted to our area for interviews.  With the exception of the Senators and we had the pleasure of attending a presser with them and then a VIP reception.

Yes, I say that calmly. And yes, I understand I’m supposed to be all cool and collected like this sort of thing happens to me all the time.  But in all honesty, in my head, all I’ve done for the past several days is go around saying…”OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!”

What an honor to be chosen and what an honor to have the opportunity to speak with all these people who I learned, really are, just people.

Among a thousand favorite moments, I have to say my favorite was at the reception having a chance to speak with Rand Paul and his brother for a little bit.  I asked the Senator about his efforts to aid in the release of the Pakistani Doctor who helped our intelligence locate and eventually kill Osama bin Laden. It was obviously something he was passionate about.  And his brother Robert is also a Doctor practicing in Fort Worth Texas.  Before I walked away I asked the two of them if I could grab a quick photo with them.

Robert made a comment, I don’t need to be in the picture, I’m not important.  Well, if you read this blog, you know me.  ”Of course

And this is how I knew I was in Texas!

you’re important!” I said and grabbed him and pulled him into the photo. It was a really funny moment. And I appreciated his accommodating me.

I got to have drinks with Michelle Malkin who I have to say I just adore. I can’t believe how amazing and down to earth she is.  Dick Armey’s wife liked me too.

I did have on heels but I have to say when we met with the Senators, I was taller than all of them.  I saw Glenn Beck in a hallway. And again, I wish this were name dropping but it was just the most surreal moments of my life I’ve had to date.

But the one thing I can say, is that every single one of these people were just as amazing as we all think they are.

Also because of the graciousness of Freedom Works, I was able to visit with my family for the first time in 5 years.  Life gets way to busy.

I can say I have actually had chips and salsa, my favorite, every single day and some days multiple times.  The photo of the cowboys were in the Stockyards in Fort Worth home to my all time favorite restaurant Joe T Garcia’s!   And if you are the first person to mention what my favorite restaurant is on Twitter and tag me in the Tweet I will send you a jar of their amazing salsa! It’s just amazing!

Thank you all for your support in helping things like this happen and supporting the conservative movement!
