As It Turns Out, You Didn’t Do a Damn Thing for Your Success!
Forget the American dream! As it turns out, you didn’t do a damn thing to become a success. No longer do we come up with a great idea, put ourselves out there, take the risks, put in the hard work and make ourselves and our surroundings better.
No. Obama says you didn’t get there on your own.
In a speech Friday, President Obama made comments that has induced uncontrollable ranting in my own household and across the nation. In other words, boy did he piss us off this time.
“If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that,” Obama said. “Somebody else made that happen.”
Obama spoke in a manner reminiscent of Elizabeth Warren’s speech a few months back that gave credit to the nation’s infrastructure for entrepreneurial success. Since the government built the road that led to your place of business then they get the credit as well for you successful business.
Here’s what these bone-headed, psycho leftists missed.
We didn’t always have an interstate system you morons! People still became successful.
And with this line of thinking, you could say, you didn’t do this, because if your Daddy hadn’t done unmentionable things with your mama, you wouldn’t even be here!
This is so far beyond ridiculous. But more than that, it’s flat-out scary as hell that we have a President who actually believes that all success in America was because of our Government. We aren’t successful because of our government. We are successful in spite of our government.
“There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back. If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own,: Obama hammered on. ”I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.”
Exactly when did we say people who don’t roll around naked in Benjamins aren’t smart? I know some really stupid rich people. But the difference is, they took a risk at some point and most put in massive amounts of hard work to succeed.
“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” he said. “The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”
Well, guess what Mr. President. If my business doesn’t work out will the repercussions fall on my 6th grade teacher? Hell no! Will they come take away my road by my business, because if that road and the people who built it are responsible for my success ARE they also responsible when I blow it and fall flat on my face.
The Government is NOT responsible for every success story in America. Do you know how many people have overcome insurmountable odds to just survive in this country and to become a success. It takes a HELL of a lot of hard work.
I absolutely adore the story and the man, Chris Gardner. He was the man portrayed by Will Smith in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. In order to become a success he had to work to survive in a Dean Witter internship with no pay while trying to care for his young son when they both were homeless. HE FOUGHT HIS ASS OFF FOR SUCCESS! NOT THE GOVERNMENT!
With Obama’s line of thinking the Government could also be responsible for all the failures. If you are living in your Mom’s basement, eating Ho-ho’s and playing Assassin’s Creed all day, blame your Government. You are just a victim. (By the way, a new Assassin’s creed is coming out in the fall I’m so excited about. It’s in Colonial America! But I don’t live in my mom’s basement so it’s ok!)
The reason this is scary, it further divides the classes. We no longer use “successful”, we use the term “rich”. Like it’s a bad thing. It’s a socialist mentality. It creates dependence. The opposite of fostering creativity, success and entrepreneurship. And we wonder why unemployment is at the highest rates since the great depression under this President.
This line of thinking keeps us down. It keeps people out of work. It gives the government more and more absolute power over our lives. Which is exactly what this President wants. He is a clear and present danger to our entire existence.
