Naughty teachers should be reserved for the bedroom only!

I hate being criticized.  Actually, is there any person on the planet that takes a step back and goes, “oh whew! Thank you for that criticism!” And actually means it?  But with what I do, criticism comes with the territory and you know, that’s okay by me.

One day on Twitter I spelled the word Colombian some other way that completely escapes me now. I was one letter off.  Mind you, IT’S TWITTER! Twitter isn’t exactly known as being the place for word purists.  There’s only so much you can do with 140 characters per tweet.

“You” becomes u, “Are” becomes r and I usually just spell out the word moron.  A liberal corrected my Colombian mistake and then proceeded to chastise me on the irresponsibility of my actions.  

My overly emotional, firecracker self eagerly replied with, “F*ck You! Did I spell that right?”

I later apologized which was REALLY difficult for me to do but I still can’t help but laugh over it.  I’m sure that guy is just a blast to hang out with.  *Severe Eye Roll*

Under other people who obviously can’t take criticism is a teacher at  North Rowan High School in North Carolina who threatened a student that he could be arrested for criticizing President Obama.

Wow, if you can get arrested for that, I’m screwed. And I’m changing the “tip jar” to “bail money”.

The argument began over a discussion about Mitt Romney and the rumored story of bullying when he was at a prep school.  The student mentions that  Barack Obama also admitted to bullying a little girl once in his memoir.  The teacher states she’s never heard of the incident but it doesn’t matter because it’s not the same thing.  Mitt Romney is only running for President but Obama IS President  she reasons, and therefore the student is not allowed to criticize it.

I’m telling you, all kinds of stupid is running rampant.  Correctly, the student defends his case by stating her comments are inaccurate since it would then violate his first amendment right to free speech!  The teacher goes on to say that people who criticized Bush and other Presidents were arrested.  (Holy God.  And yes, more eye rolling.)

You are not allowed to threaten the President’s life.   But you sure as hell can criticize the piss poor job he’s doing until you fall over blue.  I’m sure he would like very much for that to not be the case.  And I also believe it’s a constant battle for conservatives to be heard and for us to protect our voices.

But doesn’t it make you wonder which one is the student and which one is the teacher?  Of course, the teacher has not even been put on leave.  You can incorrectly threaten a student for arrest and keep your job.  Worse yet, you can be that stupid AND keep your job!

And because this is the 21st century someone recorded the audio likely on a smart phone.  Who’s the dummy now teacher?
